project 365…week two

Another week down.  This one was a lot more challenging.  It was a darrrrrrrrk, gray week here and when the sun (which was somewhere behind that thick grayness) is setting at 4:30ish- pm,  your window of light is real slim.  Hence the reason for lots of photos of my sweet kindergartner.  She gets out of school during the right light 😉

ava’s minnie birthday

Ava turned 6 last month.  Six.  My baby is six.  Say it ain’t so.  Months before her special day she told me she wanted a Minnie Mouse party and a chocolate cake with pink frosting and white polka dots.  And that’s exactly what we did.   I wasn’t able to get a ton of photos.  I now know why people hire photographers to photograph their parties.  It’s a little tricky trying to hold a camera and help 7 girls with their paint brushes 😉   It was fun, and when it was done I was tired. ha!

And we can’t forget about this pretty girl…storyboard015

You can just call me a really good planner, to not only have had one baby in December, but two! 🙂   My sweet Stella also had a birthday.  She’s now 11.   I’m not sure how that’s even possible when I’m still 20 😉  She told me, “mom, let’s not plan anything, we’ll just play games.”  I like the way she thinks.

project 365

One of my goals this year is to take a photo every day with my big camera.  Too often I find myself only taking photos of my family with my phone.   I was greatly inspired by my friend, Rosie, of Simply Rosie Photography, and her 365 project she just completed.  I’ve made it 5 days so far.  It might be a miracle if I make it all 365, but I’m gonna give it my best.  I can just imagine the feeling of accomplishment when the year is up and I’ll have a photo to look back on from each day.  The years go by so fast, I want to make time stand still and taking photos is the closest thing to making that happen.

winter 2013

The kids were hoping and praying for snow and thankfully they got one day.  It’s hard to believe Christmas has come and gone and it’s now 2014?!  I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break.  Here’s  a few wintery photos.
